Welcome to our Blog

Welcome to our new blog! We hope that through this venue we are able to extend the same experience our customers enjoy in our store to the blogosphere.

This idea came into being as we’ve seen several of the publishers and other bookstores blogging. The need was solidified after reading Tim Challies’ post Where & Why We Buy Books  with these are two significant points.

  • 88.2% of people read at least one review of a book before buying it.
  • When asked were do they read these reviews 89.6% said blogs. Amazon‘s customer reviews were second at 68.8%.

These two factors give a strong argument for having a blog to inform our customers before they buy. First and foremost, we want to be a trusted resource for all sorts of books, whether they are commentaries or Christian fiction.  Our store is widely acclaimed for its broad and deep selection of trusted resources. Our goal is to extend to the blog the same service and trust that our in-store customers already experience.

Ultimately, we will be driving most of the traffic back to our main website where purchases can be made in a convenient manner and shipped promptly. Don’t worry, if you’re a Alumni Association member or student you’ll still get the same discounts that you receive when shopping in-store.

Thanks for visiting our blog! Keep coming back, we’re planning some launch giveaways soon.

I sang in a bju choir in about 2000. One of the songs we sang was “They Way, Not Mine.” The words are by Horatius Bonar, but I´m guessing the tune we sang was written by someone at BJ.
I liked the song so much that I wrote out the notes by hand on some staff paper. I recently found the score I had written out, and decided to look for the music at the BJU bookstore. It seems to me the song is also on a CD done by BJ. We are currently missionaries in Norway, so I have no way of looking for the music at the bookstore myself anytime soon. If anyone can tell me where I might find this music, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! Ruth Talbot
